First of all, let me say that this in no way is a real rally. More of a Rallycross event with just two cars.

A real rally consists of 3 days of driving, 15-20 special stages, and the winning driver would have covered over 200+ miles and accounted close to ten hours worth of driving time.

With that said, because Rally America gets hardly any coverage whatsoever, this is the closest thing we get to an actual rally competition. (Until Discovery HD finally gives us the WRC since SpeedTV = Nascar TV.

Here's some pics of the 2009 competitors.

BTW: To those of you who care about the real rallying: Hirvonen leads day 1 at Rally Finland but Seb is close...real close.

Leading positions after SS9:

Pos Driver Car Time/Gap
1. Mikko Hirvonen Ford 1h02m51.4s
2. Sebastien Loeb Citroen + 4.0s
3. Dani Sordo Citroen + 20.3s

Good job Kenny Brack. I guess being Swedish he knew how to hold a car sideways. Saying that, he won that little competition with precision driving instead of heavy sliding.

i felt bad for deegan. Apparently a "hose" came off his turbo, i guess thats a coupling. and they never got it fixed.

Then pastrana kinda got robbed. Yes, it was his own fault, but i wish the final would have been more exciting.

Um....Audi hasn't rallyed since 1987 and the last event an Audi won was the 1987 Safari rally. They had the priveteers doing rally cross into the early 90's with the cars left over from Group B but that was it.

They proved 4wd in rally competition and went to compete in America in the SCCA Trans Am in 1988, IMSA GTO in 1989, DTM in 1990-1992, and Super Touring in 1993-1997.

Every time.....4wd would be banned.

(BTW...i did not edit your post, i pressed edit instead of quote when i wrote this the first time. That is why you see it at the bottum)

it'd be nice if this would be on discovery theatre instead of the damn auction all the time.
