View Full Version : Gaming xbox 360 not reading discs

So now anytime I put a game or video in the xbox it won't read it. It just says open tray then when I close it it just says reading then open tray again. Anyway to fix?

dont try cleaning it.. it doesnt work trust me.

It is older. It was rebuilt from when it had rrod. So cleaning won't fix it? Any other ideas or am I fucked?

unfortunately it sounds like you might have to send it back in. will it read dvds?

if they already fixed the red ring of death and it now wont read games; when you call them they are going to try to sell you a fix and 1 year warranty for 99 dollars! believe me im going thru this now. i hate xbox my 8 bit nintendo never had this problem. they cant even make a decent product. my first xbox did the same thing

if they already fixed the red ring of death and it now wont read games; when you call them they are going to try to sell you a fix and 1 year warranty for 99 dollars! believe me im going thru this now. i hate xbox my 8 bit nintendo never had this problem. they cant even make a decent product. my first xbox did the same thing
i bought my 360 the week it came out and i have never had a problem with it. depends on you for what you want to do. 100 for peace of mind for another year seems ok to me.

lol microsoft loves making money off morons like you! i have already had 3 xboxes fail, and had all 3 of them replaced brand new, each with a 3 year warrenty for free!

your one of the lucky ones if you had an xbox for that long and havent had a problem. i love the xbox games but hate xbox because they could never make a dependable console. my first one did the same thing. eventually i will pay for the fix and warranty but it seems very unfair. ALSO my buddies ps3 just got the rrod death also. you spend all this money on pieces of sh1t electronics. after this its all nintendo and pc for me

morons?? wtf are you talking about? noone has paid them anything. they fix the redring of death for free fool. please asshole tell us your secret. because after red ring of death gets fixed your coming out of pocket to get your console fixed for future repairs if you have no extended warrenty. but u just proved my point that xbox has issues making a depenable console you already gone thru 3 of them!!

I had same problem, i tried everything. I just had to call xbox to get quote to fix it.

how much was the quote? they told me 99bux i told them go to hell. i might end up doing it because of halo osdt and madden 10 and forza 3! they suck you in with the games man

ur disc drive is toast.. only way to fix it. Is to get a disc drive, and reflash it, so the motherboard can read it. if its under warranty still they will fix..

so get out there and suck some cock..and get u another xbox homo!

thats what i told him, but you forgot the fact that you have to reflash the motherboard!! In order to use the new Disc drive..
