I just did my timing like 2 weeks ago, and then today it jumped a tooth again, and the timing is off by atleast 1 or 2 teeth. Just replaced Belt and tensioner last time i did it too. Whats fucking up??

Are you sure you have the correct belt? Did you count the teeth on the original one and match it up? Have you ever done a timing belt job before?

Also, make and model of the car with engine would be beneficial.

Im pretty sure i have the correct belt, its not a oem one though. No i didnt count the teeth on the original one to match it up. Yes, this is the third time i will be doing it. Timing was perfect for the last two weeks, just went off timing again today.

sounds like you might have a GSR/type r belt on there, or your not installing correctly. Did you leave the tensioner loose and turn the crank counter clockwise till it was tight before tightning it back up ?

Formally...

After you get it back in time turn the crank a little like punkr6 said and manually tighten the tensioner. Then you need to turn the motor slowly and make sure there is not a point at which you get slack in the belt.

Finally, do you have all the covers on the timing belt side of the motor. I have seen debry get in with the timing belt and make them jump time.

maybe that could be the problem. I dont have the full cover and it is slightly bent. And also the windshield wiper spray tube thing gets in there. Maybe that could have caused it.
