You have to take the head off to install valves.

If you are talking about valve clearance then you loosen the nut on the rocker use a feeler gauge and a screwdriver to set the clearance to the correct number and then lock down the nut.

I would not attempt it yourself if you are not 100% confident that you are doing it right.
