there was someone i knew that had a spool diff. just take it more easy on turns, and said that steering was harder. I didn't go into much detail about them with the person. But his was a Richmond Gear Spool, They are only around 200, i think. 300 tops.. You should get a spool, and not worry about it getting welded, the labor would be a bit i imagine, plus you would want the diff to be heat treated to get the diff, at the greatest tensile strength of the metal.

Not sure about spool diff's but don't weld it if you plan on driving it on the street.

a drag spool is about the same as welding it. only run a spool for a strict drag car. it pretty much locks the 2 wheels together in a solid piece so turning and all that will cause it to break. just upgrade to a street lsd and you'll be good.

Spools are for drag cars, welding is dangerous to say the least, save your money and buy a good LSD...

Having a spool on the street is a huge pita and dangerous. If you must, Nitrodriveline and Richmond. Also DSS has their pro-level spool setup that is nice.

The welded diff and the spool are doing the same thing. The spool is lighter and is "safer" than the welded diff. It is really hard to turn with the welded diff or the spool. Its not that street friendly.

How much power do you make?
ITR LSDs can handle 600whp, so anything under than, run that or the KAAZ or Quaife.
Spools arent for the street and they are for drag cars and straight line racing.
ITR LSD is $300 so id look into that very affordable
