Batlground: Prelude Turbo

[Batlground]

This Prelude came in today. Turbonetics Turbo, Drag turbo manifold, Treadstone FMIC and piping, custom downpipe and W/G dump, Tuning.

Updated: Install complete. Tuning Tomorrow. Dyno numbers posted then. Some things that we did after the pics were taken, Fire sleeve covering the wastegate lines, boost controller lines cut to length. The w/g dump looks close to the oil return in the pic but its a bad angle. There is actually a couple inches there.

Constructive criticism too, you may want to wait until the car is done so you can take final pics and then post them. Theres nothing crazy about the back end of a prelude, and an empty engine bay, with a intercooler sitting on a table.

I mean if you are doing something gangster like a Full Race turbo kit, or a big kit on a supra, or something cool like that, thats one thing to do a build thread.

But an average turbo kit on a clean car, may want to do more of a "completed" picture set and thread, then some below average photos.

The boost controller is a turbo XS piece. Not what I would recommend but we will see what it does. We are using the fire sleeve just for precaution. it doesn't hurt thats for sure.

Yeah one of those 2 stage thingys. profec B spec 2 is the best for the money and easiest to use. Its what I run.

We decided that since the intake pipe was brushed and the rest of the I/C pipes were polished that we would match everything. this is how it turned out.

I just need to move my bov p the pipe 6 inches, cover up the hole where it is being moved from, and then have a little 90 bend pipe to make a CAI from my turbo.

So they installed a bolt-on turbo kit?

So update on this car. The customer had brought it to us ( not running) to put on a new turbo kit. We did some bolt ons and we did some custom fab. Get the car running and it is chugging pretty bad. we trimmed out some fuel at idle to get it run a bit more smoothly and there seems to ba an awful lot of blow by. A lot. We arent feeling very good about putting it on the dyno and wanted to check compression. Wah wah wah 30 psi on #3. So we are now in the process of building him a new engine. Significant scoring on the cylinder walls on #2 and #3 cylinders. Looks like they had been washed down by an improper tune previously. Also unsure if the pistons had the FRP coating. more to come.
