im gonna find my way out of this forum, becays i have read on like 5 threads in here so far and everyone is bashing christianity, i dont think anyone has to be a christian. everyone has freedom to believe as they want without catching hell about it. my question is y does everyone feel they need to bash christians all the time. i dont see any threads with us(christians) bashing the other religons and telling you that its stupid made up garbage etc... n we have not sacrificed your babies or dogs so what is all the hate for. why cant we have our beliefs and you have your beliefs and co-inside without all the bs drama?

It's part of the game, there was a point when i took part in religious IA discussions, Ask Hulud of all people.

That time has come an gone.

I keep it to a minimun now. As you know, it's part of the game, it was written.

It's part of the territory, Christianity is the most popular in this country, so as you could imagine, ignorant people will "bash" it constantly, at least I am doing the research to learn more about it before throwing it all away.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion and you should probably get used to that if you are going to live in this world :) I mean that in the nicest way possible. Religion is a heated discussion and some people like to get involved in them, including myself. For me it's a way to learn more. For some it's a way to get on a soap box or high horse—but that can be said about any discussion/debate topic. Just don't go to that section anymore.

Maybe you could use your passion for Christianity to educate some folks. It takes a stronger person to get involved in a heated discussion and keep your cool. I use it for practice :)

because as Jesus said, " YOU WILL BE HATED FOR MY NAMES SAKE". He gave you a fair warning

As far as i see it, Christianity gets off easy.

For what i've seen, Christians are the ones that make themselves the target because they feel they have to comment so much on people of different religeons.

My parents are half Christian and half Jewish but i choose to follow the Jewish faith. To add to that, I've never criticized those that chose a different path. For me, it always seems that Christians are the first to criticize someone else and when it comes back, they wonder why they are a target.

This obviously doesn't apply to all Christians.

I spoke with a snake a few minutes ago, and it warned me not to tell anyone because I would be looked at as a person with serious mental problems.

Honestly, I don't see why people would think that.

ej25run...im curious about something. you as a jew, do you believe in Jesus as God in flesh or just a prophet? i have heard that there are two different beliefs in judaism. those who accept Jesus as Christ and those who dont. is this true?

Neither, most jews believe that at best, jesus was a guy just like you and me, and most commonly, just a fictional story character. There are a few (very small minority) that believe he might have been a prophet, and none that believe he is a messiah or god in flesh.

Jews believe in Jesus as a person, just not the messiah, as far as I know.

Tracy

There are some who are called Messianic Jews, but they are not accepted by jews.

i see what your saying but of all religions christians should be the last to judge. if they do, then they need to go study their religon and question their beliefs, because the bible says that we dont have the right to judge for we will be judged. i dont believe i have the right to judge or critisize any religion thats why i try to be as civil as possible in any religous discussion.

bc you'd be surprised at how many self proclaimed christians live like the biggest hypocrites in the world, all the while trying to shove their religion down the throats of other. just saying.

oh ya it happens. there are those types in every religion, but since christianity is the largest religion, you just see more of it. but i believe if your not whole heartedly in something you do then it is wothless and you have no right to try to influence others untill you have fixed yourself

which is most peoples problem with christianity. there are only a handful of christians who are christians. most shove their religion down your throat and yet they dont follow it at all.

ie. pre-marital sex, judge, dont turn the other cheek, etc...

I think from my background, our portion sees him as just a profit.

Personally, i don't do much organized religion. I see it as a personal thing and i could careless what the Hebrew books teach. It hasn't worked for me in the past so i see God in my own way.

I used to be in here a lot debating and discussing. I just cant win sometimes, and my beliefs are my beliefs.

Most of the people in this section dont have beliefs high enough in there own religion so they cant compare or even contrast religions. They just think whatever is on there mind is right.

I stopped reading and posting in this forum because it just makes me sick. No matter what religion is being discussed.

I studied all religions before making my decision. I know pretty much about every religion out there and know more than many others do who actually were born of that religion. But this is what the world is now and you have to deal with people bashing religion.

so true...I have spent so much time learning about faiths, the human social structure, the human psyche, sciences, and history that it is just utterly ridiculous. I've read more and debated with professors and Drs. on this stuff and then come on here and see what I would define as the ignorance of human pride demonstrated daily.

So many people who have done absolutely NO studying on any of this but have maybe watched a video on you tube, or heard someone say something that they thought seemed right at the time, and then they jump on the bandwagon having done no real work to try to determine if their thoughts are remotely accurate.

I guess the reason I come on here though is because I get to see many of those social theories, psychological theories and even spiritual theories acted out by the very people who call them rubbish. And having worked with kids from ages 3-18, I am disturbed at the alarming rate of which the ability to use logic and intellect is being sucked out of people for the sake of simplicity and compromise. People (on all sides) actually think its cool to be stupid and ignorant about things these days. If the current trend continues, we can only expect an even greater divide between the rational and irrational and we can expect that the process of evolution is really not about survival but about how we can get to a place where we can destroy ourselves b/c that is what our mental and biological changes are working towards right now.
