Why? They're supposed to be there to protect the paint from rock chips, but by the time you pull them off years later, the unshielded paint will have faded in the meantime. I think the whole "Let's cover the nose of the car in painter's tape before I go on a road trip" idea is alot better. More time consuming and eventually more expensive, but better.
