I know that probably both of these programs for Honda ecu tuning are ancient as ever, but they still look to be somewhat reputable. What i was wondering, is which one of the two programs seems to be more effective than the other at getting a more solid and reliable tune when all is said and done? Uberdata or TurboEdit?

I'm open to more options, but id like to know more about those two. I've been on here for what seems like a little while, and everytime someone mentions tuning a Honda, they always point them straight to Scotty to do the chip and tune at Mainstream. Which i have no issues with at all, but i know thats not the only possible option... Would it be a comparable difference if i had my car running on either one of these programs and then had my car sent over to Scotty to do the tune vs. having Scotty chip it AND do the tune?

I respect that. :goodjob: Do something different man. Now, back to topic. TurboEdit is dead, soooo... yea. I'm pretty sure Uberdata is darn close to the same thing as Chrome, just an older version. Honestly, you should go with Chrome if your doing it yourself, cause the guy that made Uberdata stopped developing it way back in the day, but the guy who made Chrome used the same layout and platform as Uberdata. :boobies:
Just oooooooone thing before I set you free into the land of intion and fuel maps: Make sure you hit um PGMFI.org (http://forum.pgmfi.org/) before you do anything else. ;)

lol i've already been there doing research, and I downloaded TurboEdit and Uberdata 1.7 to my computer. Thats where im coming FROM asking these questions :D
EDIT: and does anyone still do dyno-tuning services for you if you're running Uberdata? and my final question is, how do you mod the obd0 ecu to fit a plug inside it so you can upload to the PC?

If you are OBD0 the only thing available is BRE or TurboEDIT IIRC. Uberdata is only OBD1.
If you are OBD1 there is NO REASON to use Uberdata. Crome is free and does the same thing with way more features and is A LOT less buggy.
OBD0 tuning options suck, i highly recommend you convert to OBD1 if you are OBD0. Its a simple ECU, distributor and jumper harness to convert up and your tuning options are vastly greater from Hondata, Crome, Neptune, etc.
Hit up ScttyDB411 on here, he tuned hundreds of cars with UBerdata, and is a Crome GOLD tuner, he is also a Hondata Dealer.
Hes the man to talk to when it comes to tuning hondas

The other problem is, if you chip your ecu or buy a chipped ecu from someone else, Scotty wont be responsible for it if something is wrong. Ive seen shit chipping in ECUs, blown capacitors, wrong chipsets used etc that can all make your ECU unusable or harder to tune with.
Scotty installs the datalogging header , and you know that if there is an ECU problem he will take care of it if you buy from him. Id keep it all in one place to make sure there are no issues.
IF you buy an ECU somewhere else, and its wrong or bad, and you have an appt to get tuned, youll get charged for his time, and waste a trip for no reason.
Stick with scotty there is a reason everyone gets tuned by him

Dan can also tune and chip (chip in house). www.batlground.com
[email protected] He has done years of uberdata and any other tuning you are interested in.

Well looks like i'll be going on a search for myself an OBD1 ecu... Now, i noticed that in the Crome program, they dont really have a "new" file for the non-vtec obd1 LS ecu, should i worry about that or just go ahead and still get the P75, get it chipped, and then worry about the ecus already in the Crome program later?

Get a p75 pay Scotty $80 to chip it and he'll load the right program for free

There is no ls program in Crome. Only p30 and p72

if you can't find a virgin ecu for a reasonable price, i can get you an ecu already chipped too.
