Well guys, and gals, I just did my first swap and im done, or well i thought i was, I got everything in and im assuming everything in right but im have some troubles with getting it cranked, it will turn over and turn over but wont crank, Its getting fuel and spark, due to the fireballs bouncing out of my header occasionally, Does anyone know what could be the problem or what i can do to get it cranked? i dont know if many people has had this problem but i cant seem to get it right, Im so eager to get it running and being back in my s13, Its was a 89 and im swapping a single cam right back into it, Ive tested the plugs and wires so i know they're sparking and i know its getting fuel because when i went to check the injectors i forgot to depressurize it and it spewed in my face, What could have gone wrong?:???::???::???:

If you have fuel, and spark, you need to start checking the rest. Check your timing, is it dead on? Check ALL of your connections. Is the ECU throwing any codes? If so, what are they?

lol, alright, yea try what he just said, check timing and connections, any ecu codes.

From what i was told, it had 150k, ran good, it wasnt ran hard i know that much, had the stock clutch with some life, still had all egr and emissions, ac and ps, very clean oil, clean under the valve cover, im assuming it was good running

How can i check timing when the car dont crank?

Same goes for the ecu code i guess

the ecu can throw codes as long as it has power. key on = ECU self check

check the actual timing marks on the belt man, not the ignition timing.

You check that by the marks on the harmonic balancer right? i was told to undo plug #1 and hold my finger over it while it turns over and it should blow out a puff of air and that should be top dead center, i dont understand how to tell from the harmonic balancer though

Nah i bought it from a friend who traded a dual cam for it

yes ensure that the mark lines up on both the crank pulley and the cam gear. if they don't line up correctly then you need to fix that first and foremost.
