oil leak after replacing seals?

Just replaced crank seal, both cam seals, water pump, thermostat, and timing belt. Now leaking oil badly from crank seal( I think). Is there a chance that it was worn and thats why the new seal didnt work? If so do they make sleeves for it?

sounds like a defective seal or it was damaged when installed

seal looked fine and was oil'd before it was installed so it wasnt installed dry

I sat a plate under the car and let it sit for around 3 hours. I lost probably around 20 drops or so

they have a lip in the inside that if it gets cocked it will sip out oil... so yeah installed wrong I have seen this mannnnny times that is why (I) mechanic take a mirror and look all around the seal to make sure that the lip is perfect all around before (I) install the timing belt so i Know 100% sure it will not leak... Plus AUTOZONES (fel pro ) seals suck (the orange ones)

I only use Honda OEM only!

Most of the times if you lube the seal up it will slide in with out the lip bending...

Well if you stated mazda then i would said that I threw that out there....

And if you lubed it you still got it cocked on the lip to have it leaking again....So re- do it and stop complaining lol

either bad install or bad out the box. im going to the bad install. its no biggy ive installed them wrong myself.

Either bad install like they said or if its the style with the spring inside it to keep it tight you knocked it out maybe. Seen that once before.

The crank may have a score in it. If you replace it again and it leaks then the crank may be messed up. You can inspect it when you replace it. You will have to take the crank out and have it welded up and machined if it is damaged by the seal. We have done this before for a customer.

this being the issue is 1-10000 happening I seen this all but 2 times in my 12 years experience.its just some kid that installed the seal wrong is the problem , I wouldnt be surprise that they didnt have the right tool to install it right to began with.They used a extension with a hammer I bet.I do that to but i am good with making sure it will not leak.
Also the chances of a new seal being bad is slightly also , Now buying a pos felpro (orange ones) I know they are a POS just like their orange valve cover gaskets/and grey ones.
Take it apart and check and It might even be the cam seals leaking which you can take the cover off to see if they are if not then it might as well be the crank.

thanks guys, from where its leaking I dont think its cam seals. My best guess is crank seal. I'll update once I get a chance to look it up

well, had crank and cam seals replaced with name brand seals and replaced the VC gasket adding RTV to it, guy also cleaned up my motor(cleanest I've ever seen it). Havent leaked a drop that i've seen :D
