im stumped i dont even know where to start. i think it may be the startyer but im no mechanic so ANY HELP WOULD BE HIGHLY APPRECIATED
thankyou in advance and if anyone gives me the right ifno to fix it i will give u reps all day long!!!!!!
thank you!

Check your battery, it's probably dead. When it clicks it means that you have low voltage.

before you act like an idiot and start beating on the car with a hammer, feel free to take the 10 seconds to use my advice and check the battery. do you fix all your bulb problems with a hammer? i swear i wrote the sticky for nothing.

tmracing83
07-11-2009, 11:46 AM
ya im not going to go out and beat on my damn car. i might tap the starter a couple times but i havent done anything yet. and im pretty positive that if my battery was dead it would still turn on my turbo timer or light up ALL my lights

i actually respect my car
im not gonna go and knock the shit out of it and hope for the best but thanks

a dying battery will do everything but start the vehicle. the current draw from a start can be almost 100 amps in some cases. unless you are running a VERY large amp for your stereo you won't draw 100 amps any other way.

ya i hear ya. how or whats the best way to check the battery out?

Z0_o6

either use a DMM or jumpstart the car and go to autozone, advance or some place like that.

i only suggested the aforementioned, because when mine clicked my battery was fine....and i had the same symptoms.

after you check battery, check wires that runs to the starter, if those are good then you might have a bad starter=replace it, or tap it(not beat, that sounds so brutal lol) with a hammer for a temporary fix. As i said before worked for me when i had the same problem..might work for you.

i gotcha man, you just have to be careful because of how literal people can take your post. they may or may not know to check the battery first, so they just go out there and wail on the starter until something happens! then they need a battery AND a starter! i wasn't trying to be overly harsh, you just have to start from the beginning.

another thing that wasnt mentioned, make sure your battery terminals are clean. Sometimes a corroded battery connection can cause symptoms of a dead battery because it doesnt have a good contact.

Has anyone thought about telling the OP that the stator is on a bike a alternator, generator is on a car?

lol

thought about it, reconsidered cause it would confuse people more. think about it- this is a 2 page thread for a battery.... once i started mentioning parts that aren't on a car it would REALLY fuck people up.

Then where's the best place to get certified? Btw I'm going for motorcycle not autoi went to griff tech, learned the hard way on the streets, and working at shops.

the easiest way to get cert. is a really nice private shop or a dealer. my brother in law worked for the honda place on tara blvd. that just moved for 5 years and got honda red level cert there. doesnt include his yamaha, sea doo and all the other shit they deal with training.

Griffen tech can certified you for the automotive field? I may have to check that out.. Was it worth it\useful or was it a waste?

Griffen tech can certified you for the automotive field? I may have to check that out.. Was it worth it\useful or was it a waste?u can get a normal woot i went to cool cert/degree an then it will get in a good start for your ase. if u want to go that route. factory training will do the same but normally u have to know something going in. unless u want to start at the very bottom an work your way to point they trust u to do more than oil changes.
