Nope, no political influence... it depicts the story straight from a soldier's point of view and how they react to different situations in combat or in dangerous places. It is a great character piece.

Very good movie, watched it last night and enjoyed every bit of it. The ending makes total sense in the mental aspect of war.

I think it was good but not as good as some people are saying. I watched it once and that's prob the only time I'll ever watch it. If I really like a movie I"ll watch it a over and over.
