Hi, I was about to change my fuel filter today but I did not know how to release the pressure from the fuel lines and was wondering if anybody knew how to release the pressure. It's a 2000 Honda Civic Si.

thanks for all your help. Sorry if my explanation isn't that clear, I am writing this at 4:30 in the morning

take the gas cap off. or when u go to take the first bolt the filter just do the first few turns slow. its not a big deal either way.

A little fuel in the eye never hurt no body. :goodjob:

It's real easy to do.

:goodjob: Even with the cap off it is still going to have some pressure, it doesn't last very long.

You can always pull the fuel pump relay and turn the car over a few times. That will relieve a lot of pressure.

With my car the method to relieve the fuel pressure is to take off the gas cap, take out the fuel fuse(I forgot the specific name of the fuse lol) and to crank the car until it died, and to keep cranking it a few more times. Even then I had some fuel spit out at me, and my car...febreeze FTMFW

^ that sounds pretty legit. I usually just pull the fuse for the fuel pump and crank till it dies and ya some fuel is gonna come out but its not gonna shoot out of the house at you, just dribble

Yeah, but the problem is that i cannot find which fuse it is, i looked for a fuel pump relay. I could not find any fuse with the name fuel in it.
