I am currently building a 2 stroke Yamaha jet ski engine. It is a 500cc 2 cylinder. The engine came with one 34mm Mikuni carb. Engine will have head milled .020", minor port work, custom SS exhaust and custom intake to run twin carbs. I have two 38mm Mikunis I would like to use if I can. Will this be over kill or could they be jetted down enough? They came from a Yamaha 700cc ski.

i dont think it would be that much different.

Why not just make a custom intake for one of the 38mm's? Getting the twin carbs tuned in correctly will end up being more trouble than its worth.

More so because the carbs fuel inlet/outlets are made to run dual carbs. Didn't think about doing that though, intake sure would be a lot easier to make also. Hmm

The twin carbs would be a bitch every once in awhile. As long as you kept up with it and fired it up once a week or few weeks you should be ok. But the one carb and custom intake would be plenty. You're also milling the head down and I think there would be too much fuel in the engine.

^ Exactly why I was asking, because there isn't enough mods to need that big of a dual carb setup on this engine.

The head mill will give u quite a bit more pop.

Were you in alpharetta saturday night? Black XR, on OEM silver rims, towing a jet ski with a NICE sounding exhaust

Towing a Jet Ski, yes. OEM silver rims, no. My OEM wheels are black but I currently have OEM Ford Fusion Sport 18" wheels on the truck. So wasn't me, but odd

Yeah. He was in Alpharetta for the fireworks. He moved his truck like 3 times. lol. It sounded sooo nice. I want an exhaust, but V6 trucks sound terrible w/o the correct exhaust. ANYWAYS..back on topic.
