Hello:boobies:, I bought this car from a friend of mine and now im trying to get it running so it can be a daily driver for me. The engine runs it is a 1.8L BMW engine model "m42"
Problem with the Idle is the car is barely running it pretty much shuts off unless i sit there and play with the idle. Im not really sure what the problem is but I want to narrow it down before i start spending money to fix the car :-) . I want to get the car running first before i go replacing hundreds of dollars worth of bmw parts.
I just need help with my diagnostics. I will pay someone to come check it out at my house that has great mechanical experience. I really just want a great diag at my house. I can do the work myself unless i choose not to.
Okay let me tell you what i have done so far to try to fix the problem I cleaned the Idle Control Valve under the intake manifold. I replaced one hose that clearly needed replacing. Havent done anything else yet.
