Naw. That guy use to be up around this area but I haven't seen that car in a while.

You would be correct. The Buick has been sitting there for a year. That's one of the reason why the engine bay is so dirty. The owner pulled it out of a field and started working on it. It has some electrical problems. We will be up there tomorrow doin work on it!

Those are the most annoying vehicles on the planet. It isn't there style, cause I think they LOOK pretty cool. It isn't there big stereos cause I do that myself, I love a huge boomin system. I hate the safety factor and drivability of the monstrosities. Why would you put 26" 100+ pound rims on a car that still keeps the factory drum brakes? They can't stop! Why not just put a bigger brake setup on them while you're at it? It would make it look even better in my opinion! I would think about the idea of modifying the steering rack in such a fashion as to make the car's turning radius less than that of a football field. I can't understand why these guys take these cars and make them look great, but completely unsafe to drive on the street? What gears are you guys running in the rear diffs on those anyway? Just out of curiosity I was wondering if the FD ratio is altered so dramatically by the size of the wheels that it is neccesary to change them to a higher geared rear-end. I have seen one of these run at the track that was setup properly, it went low 12's on 24" wheels, and then on slicks it was well into the 10's. It was what made them so impressive to me, the fact that they CAN be made to do whatever the owner wants, but it seems crazy to me that some of the guys overlook safety to blatantly.

From what i was told by the owner of the shop both the LaSabre and Catalina are done right. Both have been rear geared. They both have bigger disc brakes up front and I know the Catalina has an upgraded master cylinder.

Props for the work put into it though! Although just not my forte. I would be too worried about doing an emergency stop or a maneuver when something crosses in front of you... Seems like those cars are prone to roll over.
