"I was traveling approx 55-60mph and there was a huge pothole in the road. About as deep as 3/4 of a wheel. I dodged that but apparently, there was a truck with a trailer that had hit the pothole before me and both the doors came off the back of the trailer due to the impact and were laying in the road. They were the same dark charcoal color as the road and on top of that it was raining and I was trying to avoid the huge pothole. When my car went over the doors, the hinge of the door was sticking up and tore through my drivers side wheel, made contact with the rim, and broke it in half; then it did the same thing to my drivers side rear wheel. I was in a T-bone accident once where both cars were totaled, and the impact and shudder in the car felt nearly the equivalent of that. I knew without getting out of the car the wheels were lost, but I was terrified that other parts of the car took the hit too. Fortunately, nothing else was harmed, but still... while this was a freaking ridiculous set of events, be careful out there"

I see major failure there....in the quality of the wheels. A good wheel should at least bend when striking an object that hard. I have seen wheels break like that from too much air pressure though. Furthermore, if something was sticking up that much, i'd expect to see shredded tire as well.

3/4 as deep as the wheel? Those are what...19" wheels? So someone is trying to say they were able to gauge the depth of a pothole at probably a fairly higher rate of speed? That hole would had to have been over 12" deep!!! Sorry, i've seen some bad roads..but never....ever... something of that size that wasn't a storm-related sinkhole..and stuff like that is caught by the DOT and fixed asap for liability reasons. Also, truck doors being knocked off? I find that one hard to belive...sorry.

I bet those wheels are SportMax/XXR :lmfao: :lmfao: :lmfao:
Rotas don't even fail that bad on impact.

LOL, what you get when you buy cheap ass cast wheels. ADR M-sports? LOL. Here is my wheel after a 50 mph impact with a curb and wall which also tore off the tire. Notice just the outer lip bent.

So it wasn't raining and you hit something you couldn't see, it was clear and you just can't drive. LOL.
