I BOUGHT A NEW ALTERNATOR for my 3 gen prelude and the car wont hold it charge need help fast :???:

well yes i did check the battery and just bought a new alt my dad said it the wires for the reason it not holding the charge

ok i fix that problem and it ran without the batt but when i put it in and ran it for a good minute it shut off i think it the battery

i was thinking if the car is running while the battery terminal is pulled that should mean that the battery is good and the alternator is not holding power .. 8D

You got it backwards lol, how would it indicate the battery is good if you take it out of the system and the car continues to run? That means the ALTERNATOR is still charging.

Sounds to me like you have a battery with a dead cell bro, I'd either have it checked or just go ahead bite the bullet and replace it.

buy an ohm/volt meter tester...very useful.

Like HB said, sounds like you have a dead cell. Just get a new battery.

Make sure the alternator belt/tensioner is tight as well.

umm my friends said the battery is to small

my dad tried the batt on his car which it has a smaller motor and it started

once the battery gets to a certain low level, it won't hold a charge. only way to fix it is the bolded print quoted.
