Type-s or base model? I looked up all the specs on both and I'm leaning more towards the S only because its a 6 speed. I'm just asking peoples opinions, because in the end it's still my choice lol. Thanks in advance for the feedback.

2003 or 2005. And I don't really have extra cash laying around for boost. Maybe in a year or so but not anytime soon lol.

you will be much more pleased with the type-s than you would be with a base model. the resale value is much better for them, and the motor is way stouter. make sure if buying used, to test drive it and check the transmission, they are bad about people shearing teeth off of ring gears because they want to do redline launches like fucking idiots.

Anyone here know the price differentials on the base model and type-s? I tried looking online but I had no luck. Know someone I can pm or something?

Some people don't really care about the power difference(daily driver). Also you have to think about the insurance factor as well.

best rsx is a 2005 type s it comes with 210 hp stock vs all other years of type s models that only came with 200. 05 06 better everything also. better seats. interior. stock lip kits everything is better.
i had an 04 base. wasnt really happy with the performance

:goodjob:, that's what its mainly going to be used for, a dd, but I'm still going to take care of it as far as mods go.

proof that the 05 has 10 more hp? The rest is just a matter of opinion.

you can google it, I have a '06 type-s, its even on the window sticker when you buy it. The 05-06 has the jdm itr cams in it, thats why it produces slightly more.
http://www.netcarshow.com/acura/2005-rsx_type-s <<< scroll down and you'll see the type-s makes 210@7800rpm.

Uh, I'm pretty sure the reason why its 210hp instead of 200hp is the change in SAE ratings that year. Doubt it has anything to do with ITR cams and such. Its the same exact engine and all, just rated differently.
OP: Get a type-s. No point in paying out the ass for insurance on a car thats not worth it. You won't regret a type-s. 6sp ftw and its quicker by a good margin.

hey not to be a dick or anything, but im movin the thread to the car talk section. this is more of an opinionated based thread on what car you should get. belongs in that forum. pm me if you have any issues with me doing so.
Without any mention of money, you're asking the people of a car forum to choose between the exact same model of car, but one is superior or equal to the other in every aspecy. Let me just go ahead and tell you what the unanimous response is going to be. "Get a type-s"

wrong, do some research first before making a false statement. The 05-06 has larger cams in there, i.e. the jdm dc5-r cams. BTW, the 02-04 came with k20a2 and the 05-06 came with the k20z1.

Even the base model has the same horsepower as EM Civic SIs, should have better torque as well. I've thought about the EP3 really hard, the base RSX is in the same boat, I want both, so I'm going to be the one guy that would love to have a base model. If the insurance is equal, I'm not sure, I'm taking it from a previous post, I'd go with the Type S, more fun in the long run and it will hold it's value that much more. Either way, beautiful car and hella fun.

Buying a base model rsx is like buying a v6 mustang, its pointless to settle for less.
