i do agree with you, but....if we were going to get into trouble. we would have already gotten into trouble.

they have the video but have no idea most of the time where th races actually took place. or when

Troof, and also the fact if one would take you to court, just tell them it was all digitally created. They cant prove half the crap in videos based on our technology today that can pretty manipulate anything.

But it is stupid that people who race on here do not block out their plates.

WTF?

i thought of it but i figured they cant do nothing about it so i just havent worried about it but then again i dont have many street racing videos

well after reading some of the post example:

ABC USER "i raced XYZ this weekend here is the vid"

tag# + admission online = guilty

i'm just saying likely hood is small but you never know - they are cracking down like crazy and considering the current economic status if they can punish extra few 100 cases for reckless driving/street racing fines would make up some budget deficits :goodjob:

From past experience they can't do anything about it unless the catch you in the act. I've raced several times and be pulling in the parking lot with the cops coming from the other direction. As long as they dont see you racing there is nuthing they can do about it. I have also talk'd to a couple of G-nett cops and lawyers about this.

All there doing on IA is watching the film to try and figure out when and where everything is going on at.

lol! the crazy thing is, if a cop saw you launch and haul ass even letting off at the speed limit it is classified as laying drag, or competition of speed or some goofy shit like that.

I saw on the news about a year ago or so where a kid posted a video racing on an interstate on yahoo. He was going above 120mph. The cops came and got him. I believe it was in GA, but not 100% sure.

^^ that wasn't the first time nor will it be the last. if you guys are dumb enough to believe the police or whoever it is that is obtaining videos online to use against you in court isn't going to use it, LOFL.

this has already happened and will continue to happen. its only a matter of time before authorities start cracking down and start using our own videos against us. if you really want to live in la la land and believe it won't happen, oh well...

I wished I could remember all the details about it, but the kid was arrested. It was a smaller story, so didn't hear anything else about it after the initial one.

I guess it boils down to if they can prive where you were at and the speed you were going.

That is only true for a commercial truck (and over xxx weight - I think it was 16K #s) , as you are required to keep logs. Private vehicles do not have logs and you are not required by law to disclose who was driving at the time.

It's "exhibition of speed or acceleration" according to GA law
Racing on the highways includes “any race, speed competition or contest, drag race or acceleration contest, test of physical endurance, exhibition of speed or acceleration, or for the purpose of making a speed record….” §40-6-186(b)

dont really do the late night organized thing too much anymore. got a business to run, 6 cars to take care of, permanent woman, and all the other time is spent at the shop with turbodave, at the track, or drifting. still go out when i can but it's usually just to hang out and chill. when i was in my 20's and never needed sleep i'd work all week, bounce clubs all weekend and go street racing after the clubs closed down if there wasnt a woman around while i was fight training 3 days week  and it was all no big deal back in the day but now just too much goin on so sleep, unfortunately, is a priority to make sure i can maintain the lifestyle i am soooo blessed to have

oh, it's no problem man :goodjob: my car runs what it runs ;) i've been beaten by cars that never shoulda had a chance and whooped up on some that i never shouldve beaten, that's just racing

i'm proud to race a street car i built myself with the help of turbodave and cablebandit showing me the right way to do it. turbodave even has me rebuilding my own tranny now(talk about tough :( ) . and slowly but surely i'm getting the tuning thing down but we ARE MORE than a far ways away from the day i will be able to tune but i would like to be able to make more true track time adjustments for DA at the track than just fuel pressure adjustments and nitrous adjustments that i do now :goodjob:

Showing plates in racing videos isn't a problem so long as the driver of the vehicle cannot be positively identified. So keep faces out of it and you're ok.

At least, 'at's what they told me up 'ere in Maynardsville.
