Yeah, they mentioned this a long time ago, the only issue being emission standards in the U.S. This could be a big possibility in Europe, but we can't even get a diesel engine in a Smart car, I guess trucks meet different requirements. The diesel engine ran much better numbers than the gasoline from what I remember.

this car was featured in iron man and the new transformers, its a great car, but old news, but i wouldn't hesitate to drool over this thing!
if they keep talking about the TDI's all the time.. me and my better half are looking at getting a new JETTA Tdi.. 50+ miles to the gallon. And it looks a hell of a lot better then the prius. With the GIAC chip you could have well over 300ft lbs of tq too.. hehe
