This is a Jet Ski engine (900cc 3 cylinder 2 stroke). What caused this piston failure? The head on this cylinder also looks almost like the top of the piston.

Lean. Probably a jetting or sp plug issue.

No its not. I'm thinking a carb gasket started leaking or something. Has less than 100 hours on the engine. All stock.

then the injector wasnt working properly or someone 'adjusted' your carbs and then one of your buddues decided to 'floor it' for say 20-30 min and that's what happens :( sorry, happened to me back in the day too

So... how do you go about adjusting the carbs? It has 3 of them.

2 stroke jet skis are really sensitive i would never trust the injection just premix the gas this has happened to me numerous of times i learned the hard way p.s buy my jet ski

You can't remove the injection system on this ski but I am going to premix the gas 50:1 anyways along with the oil system. Thats what Kawasaki recommended.
