I'm going to pick up a double din in-dash DVD soon for one of my cars. I have been looking at the JVC KW-AVX820 as a possible cannidate. Does anyone have this unit or is very familiar with it? I specifically want to know if you can play Divx moves from the USB or SD card. I'm not wanting to burn them to a DVD format first, if I can help it. If it can't do you know of another unit that can?

from what i've read thru a little research, it says it will play Divx thru a rear USB port. not 100% sure if it will or not since i myself have never used this.

That's what I have read too, but I want to confirm it before spending the money.

I wish I could tell you I have tried it. I do sell that model, but never tried it myself. Not sure what prices you have been getting, but I sell it for $495.

That's a good price - about the same price as buying if off the net.

I'm still looking to verify that it can play what I want.

I've had Pioneer Avic's several times. I did not ask about how the JVC played DVDs - because I know both Pioneer and JVC do that very well. I specifically asked about playing Divx off USB or SD card.

Additionally, although I did not mention it earlier, I would only go with a 7" touch screen, which would mean my only option in Pioneer would be a Z3. I don't think that I want to spend as much on the radio as the car is worth. This is just going in my cheap highway trip car.

The Pioneer AVHP-4100DVD is a 7" Touch Screen that has a rear USB that plays Divx. I sell it for $480.

Then that would be ok also to me. I'm finishing up some work on a couple of toys before I get to get back on this one for right now, but will talk to you later about it.
