damn nice car hope get it back in one piece If you have money to buy all that stuff in the middle of there im sure you could have got 700$ for lowjack. But like my dad always told me "if a thief wants something they dont care what it takes they will get it".I tell everyone that because it helps people go to extra measures when protecting their investments. They stole my dad's 1968 C10 fully restore with a 327 from under a carcover at his friends place.Alot of people dont know what their car sounds like outside just how it sounds inside. And most of the time they might hear it and pay no attention.Someone tried to steal my brothers mustang and he heard it crank but he just thought it was someone else.

The car was NEVER driven and stayed in her garage. Should she still had more security? Yes but it is what it is.
the car was stolen at arbys while she was inside. She was eating while she could see the car. Got up then went to the restroom and walked outside to find the car gone. The people that stole it knew what they were doing and I'm sure the car is stripped by now or is being stored. We just need help with look out for parts.
The car also had skunk2 coilovers.

This seriously happened in a time frame of 5 minutes or less.
There was a group of kids washin cars in the parking lot, and as soonas they came into Arbys we headed out, and poof it was gone.
I really hope it's found in one peice, stuff like this doesn't deserve to happen to anyone but it's even harder to deal with when it happens to such a good person.

She did park it where she could see it. They stole it between the time she got up and threw the trash away and got a refill to the time she walked outside. Two min time at the most.

have you guys tried to see who might have a registered repo truck around conyers. IMO That would be the easiest way to pick up the car - move it then try to figure out what to do with it. Not many people are going to wonder about a civic being towed vs driving it away like ... well ... like you stole it ( no pun intended).
If someone has some time the could call some storage units and inquire about units. If anyone recently got one big enough to store a car or if they have seen any suspicious activity (aka tow truck or whatnot). The owners might not tell you but it could be worth a try.

Just because it's in a garage, doesn't mean that you shouldn't try an protect your investment.Half the time,if it have a alarm, they wouldn't mess with it..There will find something easier to take.If it always in the garage, then probably someone she knows took it...Hope they find it :(

Who was she on the phone with/texting while she was there eating (i.e who KNEW you were there, going there, but wasn't with her)? Who was she with? Were the people that she was with texting extensively while they were there? This reaks of "inside job" b/c of the location and time of day. Sorry to put her "friends" on blast but I'd look there 1st.
And on the security tip -- you can see my security thread for what I think of people who wants to buy everything under the sun for their car but not protect your investment. Why put oil in a motor? To protect the engine. Why roll up windows in the rain? To protect the interior. So why don't people invest in alarms and other security features?? I've never understood this.
It's Gonna be a LONG HOT DISGUSTING summer this year for people w/out protected rides... especially w/ the way jobs/economy is right now.
I hope that it's recovered but as we know it's not likely.

NOW THIS....what my mom emailed me this morning.....
This morning at 7am I felt like i was watching "cops" Both entrances to my neighborhood were blocked, 8 cop cars on my street. 2 black males were hiding out in the woods behind my house, the helicopters are out and the sheriffs dept won't release any info. Neighbor said they stole a 4-wheeler lost control of it and ran it through her fence.

she has a very small group of friends. she only hangs out with like maybe 7 people and we have all been good friends for 5+ years.
it could very well be a friend of a friend or somebody she met at a car event and talked to but i can promise you one of our/her friends did not steal that car.

Chad -- you know from being on the SSIDE a lot that to get parts like those "friends" can flip on you in a heartbeat. There is only 2 people that I KNOW FOR A FACT who wouldn't steal from me (car shit) if they could get away with it... yet I know TEENS of people though. So what does that tell me about odds? How long does it take you to get a refill, and take a piss? The odds were HIGHLY in the theives favor that it was easier for them thieves to GET CAUGHT than to not get caught.
In the last month - has she dropped the car off at any speed shop, oil change, stereo install - tint shop where they had time to duplicate a key?? Has she let some1 borrow the car for a minute to run an errand (key costs a dollar at wal-mart and can be duped in 120 seconds.). REAL easy for people who change oil at wal-mart to see what's in the car, head over to the cutter and dupe the key and change your oil before you get back from the food section w/ toilet paper and milk. They have all the shit right there in the auto section.
She needs to think HARD!!!!!!!!!!!!

Midday in CONYERS at that?? This doesn't say to me "tow-truck/repo Joe" - this doesn't say "hotwire" to me either... even the "fast" guys need a little time. This says to me "I have a key already and I just need 30 seconds, not 3 minutes".

It takes less than 30 seconds to start that model civic with no key...

PS? Any video at Arby's??? Also any video at the routes/banks/gas stations on the way outta there? Act fast Chad and company while the vids are still attainable - you have to be proactive and call these places b/c the cops won't... in their eyes, it's a $1500 Civic.
I HATE HATE HATE thieves as you can tell by my security thread(s).

Total time to get in the door... (assuming they were locked and the windows were up) pop the column "neutral roll" (they said it was silent) would have taken a bit longer than that.
The purps watched her. They "knew" she was there (friends/friends of friends) or followed her there. I'd bet my next paycheck on it.

What about those kids washing cars?
toxxxic
06-22-2009, 03:23 PM
Ill bet it went down something like this:
Suspicious good for nothing Arby's worker hears car, sees it pull up. Watches as a female gets out of the car. Most likely recognizes the car from ia, or some other website, or has heard about it. Calls good for nothing friends and says "this car is at my work, I say we take it", by the time food is ordered, friends are already on their way, kid stays on the phone with the friends to keep them updated on what the car owner is doing. As soon as the owner gets up and takes her focus off the car, the arbys worker tells his friends to go for it, and its gone.
Either that or she took it somewhere to be serviced and a duplicate key was created without her knowledge...

the only people that have touched that car is inline pro, JJspec and a friend of ours.
inline pro sponsors the car and the arent even in this state
JJ spec did the cage does alot of bisiness with comp clutch and jimmy jones just isnt like that.
our friend would never ever do anything like that. we have been friends with him for 4 years and competition clutch sponsored his EG RACE car....they have done ALOT for him. we hang out together 3-4 times a week and he does not steal.
i dont doubt somebody was watching her, they had to be to know when to make ther move. who knows, she took the car to the mcdonough sonic meet, to the east coast honda tech meet and the import alliance meet. plus its not like somebody had to write down her tag, its very easy to remember. if they had the means to look up the tag then she could have been followed.

well to be honest we think it was some pros and they had that shit in a trailor within minutes.
toxxxic
06-22-2009, 03:39 PM
If they looked up her tag, why wouldn't they have stolen it from her house? Why wait until she goes to Arby's to steal it?
And yes I know you said that she keeps it in a garage but uh, if they took it and were gone in the time it took her to get up, get a refill, & walk outside, I wouldn't put it past them to get past a garage door.
And I hate to say this, but if they were skilled enough to take the car so quickly, they probably know better than to sell the parts locally.
Next step is probably to contact the surrounding businesses and find out if any of them have surveilance covering the exit routes of the parking lot & to check if the car is in any of them, and see who's driving. Hell go ask people if they saw anything - SOMEONE had to have seen SOMETHING.

i am a previous owner of the car, had it for almost 3 years, but most definitely have no keys, nor interest in taking the car, plenty of people around here im sure are willing to vouch for that, and i was at JJSPEC in macon most of saturday and was working on a car with Jimmy when we got the call

Then he went to the flea market for one thread.
