that's pretty slick, there. I wonder how well it performs? What kind of power does that 4L put out?

4.0 is rated at like 280hp... But if its a 4.4 which also comes in the newer 740 then it would be more..
Not worth the asking price since it's a bolt in swap and those motors are easy to find.
Just my :2cents:

Nice swap. Keeping it in the family. The 4.0's are rated at about 280hp but with a good exhaust and tune it's easy for those things to make 280whp

Really you think you can build this car for cheaper? Even if you do all of the labor? (Note: I know very little of how much bmw motors/tannys are).

i would sell my car for about 35K. i did all the labor (except for tuning, and tranny). i know you could not build my car for close to what i have in it. especially if you add labor cost in it. im not sure about the motor swap stuff though. looks clean, just old and dated

Really you think you can build this car for cheaper? Even if you do all of the labor? (Note: I know very little of how much bmw motors/tannys are). You can get that engine for the same price or less than a e36 in-line 6. As with just about any BMW engine it is a direct bolt in.
A friend has a e34 V8 with 6-speed transmission he's contemplating either putting in a e30 or e36. I say do it in the e36 since its a fairly common swap in e30's. There are superchargers readily available for the BMW V8's too or go with a mild remote turbo setup....at that point might as well just put an LSx in it for the same price and power n/a. LSx kits are now readily available.
Here's an e30 M3 track car with a 4.4L v8 and 6 speed...
