So I took the Z by VQ35_Star's shop and he did a kick ass job smoking them! And clearing my headlights, and taking the badge off, and gave me the different antenna and reflectors. LOL he hooked me up major... much thanks!

I was referring to VQ_35's Z and work with the sickness and the homage :P
Although I do think my car is sick. If I didn't why would I buy it? Just as I'm sure you think yours is. So... you can call your own car sick

Why is it that Civic owners can never say anything positive about a Z on this forum? :taun:

How'd I react immaturely? I responded to their car the same way they responded to mine. You only get defensive because you fit into the category of people I called out Civic owners. I have nothing against them or their car, but I share their opinion on my car, about theirs.
Since when is that immature?
And for the record, their car isn't "nicer" than my Z. You may like it more, but that's like saying my Z is "nicer" than a new 3 series BMW which it is not regardless of whether I like it more or not

As far as the contrast goes, I think that the red clashed with the blue...and the black flows much better. I actually think blacked out lights on a black car is as played out as black rims on a black car. /shrug
Also, you'd be surprised how well you can see the lights through the spray...I'll post some pics tonight of my lights on

Taping it off would work. But then you wouldn't be able to get the little edges making little white lines to be seen at different angles. And to do those little ass rear lights youde have to tape off the whole car which is a big waste of materials which aren't cheap. It would be more economical to remove the bumper to remove the lights for a cleaner better job. And how is one suppose to wet sand and buff those lights once painted?

im not sure how you tinted them vq35 star but im assuming you tinted the clear? they look great dont get me wrong but the way i do them at the shop that i work at we just use a thinned out black base coat and then put clear over it. that way if they get scratched or if for some reason you get trash in the clear you can wet sand and buff them out.
you can see them great during the day and at night you cant tell they are smoked.

The process I use is taking clear coat and then mixing in reduced deep black. That wet sands and bufss out perfectly. If I'm working on a high dollar car I put a regular coat of untinted clear ontop of the tinted clear for that extra shine. Using the one and a half coat of clear for both coats.
That's just the way I've always done it and have always wet sanded and buffed those. your method sounds like a good way too, but from the pics of ur stang the black doesn't look uniform when the lights are on probably bc of the over reducing.

nope its definatly uniform cuz i was worried about that too, but i think its giving that appearance because of the reflectors inside. but both i think are good methods, especially if another coat of clear is applied afterward. :goodjob:
Oh ok. Well then its all down to personal oppinion on which process works. aslong as it works its all good lol. and the extra coat of clear isn't really needed but i do that anyways just bc i like to make sure.

buffing it wasnt bc of orange peel or any texture it was bc there was a few pieces of trash in the clear, and plus buffing always makes the clear shinier
and risk running the clear? lol proper flash times noob
noob..lol
ok pro...you need to work on that color match on your front bumper...

I had a buddy of mine that works at a dealership smoke the lights on my blazer even though its a junker i just wanted to do something to it. I used the can at first and it turned out like dog shit. I accidentally quick waxed the lights and within weeks it started to crack off like hell. Then i had the guy at the dealership do it for me i believe its something like ten coats of clear and baked in the booth. Im not one hundred percent sure though.
