View Full Version : Which would you choose?

I'm enjoying my current car but I'm wanting to step up as a graduation present to myself, the 3 I'm considering;

Audi S5
E92 M3
Porsche C2S (06-07)

Its still months (possibly a year) away, if I was irresponsible I'd go get one now but I care not to be car broke like I was previously. Speed doesn't matter to me any more, you'll never see me drag race anyone ever again. What I'm looking for is driving experience, something that keeps a smile on my face. The S5 looks appeals to me but its underpowered compared to the other two. The C2S I lean toward and absolutely believe would be the most fun but I want something relatively comfortable for my fiance and I on road trips. (which I think the porsche is still capable of) The M3 is the mix of the 2 but when I compare it to the C2S I just can't justify getting one. I'll probably end up with the C2S but I wanted to see some other opinions. Which would you choose?

If you're feeling impulsive I got an S5 for sale right now ;)

Nice choices you have there. It would be a tough choice between the c2s, and the M3. I would test drive both and maybe then you will get closer to your decision. Nice taste though.

Serious? Just curious why the sale?

Serious...it doesnt NEED to sell, but if a good enough offer presents itself it could be yours. I personally love the car, we just dont need as many cars as we have.

i love the porsche, but at the end of the day i would like to have the a5 , you can be in a porsche and see eight of them later that day, of the same model, and they are fantastic cars, but man, when you see that s5 its a whole new ball game, especially if you aren't looking for just power i would opt for the s5, i got to ride in one the other day and it was immense, i loved it, and there just no denying the awesome build quality, and if its looks you want, we had everyone who drove by stare and give thumbs up, its an awesome car, the m3 is nice but not as good a resale value as the s5, and the s5 looks to be a timeless design, reps for great taste!

Thats exactly how I feel about the S5. I saw a M3 on the road and it caught my attention only because I knew what it was. An S5 passed me and I was blown away by the looks.

Porsche's are very common now. Ever since they started making cheaper models, I think they lost their exclusive appeal. I even see the Cayanne all the time now.

Other choices are staying around that $50k range which is all I'm willing to pay for the moment. Honestly if I had the choice I'd be going for a 997 GT3 or Turbo, the GT-R just doesn't have the appeal after seeing it in person.

As for Porsche's being common, I don't mind really.. I see more M3's than I do 911's.

I did see a red 997 GT3 around Perimeter mall yesterday.....pure sex.

The 08 can be had around the $90k-$120k range. If I can hold out for a while, that will be my next purchase....2-3yrs.

Eeeh, I feel ya on the more M3's than Porsches, but I don't pay a Porsche any attention any more unless its something rediculously sick, of which there are very few.
On the flip, though you do see more M's, you don't see that many new ones (which btw, M3 FTW that bitch is nasty) and usually even if it's an old one, I still look and listen. As for the Audi... some people have good experiences and some bad... I'm a fan of the make but not the model. In the end, whats gonna fit you best... With the wife and the road trips, comfortability being a factor... I'd take the M.

Personally, if you have 80k to spend on a car, start looking at mercedes benz amg c63, used porsche 911 turbos, etc....I'd rather have one of those then the ones you posted.

shit fuck it, go get a hyundai genesis sedan 4.6l v8, they go 0-60 in like 5.4 sec or something like that

m3 is cool and all, and im sure it would be the most fun to drive, but the s5 is too damn classy to ignore. id have the say s5

I don't even care for the new M3s that much and it's still what I'd choose given that list. The S5 just doesn't appeal to me personally and if I was going to go for a Porsche I'd do it right the first time and get a GT3.

All three are nice cars though, so you can't really go wrong regardless of what you get.

The Carrera is nice and it'd be a great drivers' car. I can say the same for the M3, but the S5 just captures bits and pieces of the high-points of both cars...and damn I just think it's one of the most beautiful cars ever built. That engine sounds better than both, I'd say, the interior is top of it's class, and it's got a rock-solid build.

The M3 is probably the better all-rounder...but in a matter of personal preference, I'd much rather have the S5. It's a bit more exclusive and certainly more of "my thing" than the other cars.
