i dont think its the KF that is the issue. i think its the ppl it attracts. ppl love to see fast cars and money being bet on street races. its a cool life. a young person that has a good job and car kinda life. but you get ppl in that dont like to race or just like to talk shit and cause issues.

IS.net was a good site to set up races. everyone over there raced and you got to set up a race with someone you didnt even know to race. and when we went out, we had great turn outs.

First off let me say I don't street race anymore due to a personal conflict I have with it, but if you do I don't care. Hell I still like to watch sometimes. I will race at the track though when time permits me to. Anyways, here has been the worst thing that I hate about the few meets that I have been to. I pull up and before I can get over to talk to anyone I know some 16- 20 year old kid will see my FMIC and ask if I want to run his n/a hatch with a swap, or his bolt on SRT-4 or so on. from a roll. First off if you are gonna ask for a race then learn your cars. I popped my hood for the kid in the hatch I was referring to and he still insisted. Even if I was going to race I would not waste my time or license racing a car like that, especially just for the fun of it. Then when I decline they just keep on and on. And I know then they go back over to their freinds and talk shit saying I'm scared and shit. People have just gotten to where they don't want drama. If you wanna race I say take it back old school and go back to the Hole with 500 people there watching. That was the good ole days. Prolly to hot to go there now for long though. it was poppin 5-6 years ago when i was racing every fri/sat/sunday night. BUt back then, it was ALL Dig Races, it was mostly Hondas, 240s, occasional v8.

No one had 500whp turbo or NA cars, it was RARE. I mean i had a 190whp 2000lb CRX and was beating almost anyone that came out.

Then i build my BIG motor, i made 240whp out of a 2.0l in a 1800lb CRX< and suddenly, everyone was 100 times faster. You had 400-500whp turbo cars EVERYWHERE. And they all wanted to do roll races. I was an all motor guy FOREVER, and the game changed. There is no way an NA honda can compete with a 500whp Turbo 4 or 6 cylinder on the highway.

So now you have cars that make a ton more power, and IMO break a lot more often.

Man and back then shit was different, you lost, you lined them up again, you lost, you went home changed some shit and came back the next weekend.

Now, people act like its the end of the world if you lose. And if you talk shit, people want to fight you.

Like i remember beating people and being polite about it "hey man youll get me next time". Deep down i was like "I BEAT THAT ASS" but everyone was always polite and friendly at the end of the day.

You know, I see a lot of truth in this post. I had SO much more fun back when my friends and I all had slower cars. Less risks, less drama, less breaking. We would go out, run a couple 14 or 13 second cars, have a blast, and just generally get along. Now we are all building these cars that are complete overkill for the street, temperamental, and just plain aggravating at times to deal with. I still enjoy hanging out with my friends and racing when we can, but it's becoming rarer and rarer that any of us have our stuff together at the same time anymore!

Don't get me wrong, I am still working on my turd to have a 500 whp turbo beast, but at this point it's strictly to have a weekend warrior to take to the track, just because after all the money, time and effort invested in the damn thing I don't even LIKE to put it on the street anymore for fear some dumbass is going to fuck it up for me.

I was going off of information about an F250 beating Cobras, more than once. If that is not the same vehicle then I dont know who will win. I am not the fastest rider and my bike lags like crazy in the middle.

it is the same vehicle. fisher beat the cobra to a mark because he killed him outta the hole just to have the cobra fly by later on. but with fishers dig ability. he may still get you!

-Ant.Do you go out and bounce a car off the rev limiter and pop the clutch the first time you launch a car? Didn't think so. :tongue: You ease into it when you're comfortable and figure out what works. :idb: Keep a steady throttle and learn to slip the clutch only bringing the front off the ground an inch or two tops. Popping the clutch isn't going to get you anywhere and you control any wheel spin and how much the front comes up with the clutch, doesn't matter if you're at 4k or 10k rpms. Just practice slipping the clutch and easing it out more and more each time...

no way in the worls u ever cut a 1.3 unless ur lowered and stretched 8+ inches. a stock heigth stock wheelbase bike is hard to cut under a 2.0. i have ran mine 30 times and the best i ever cut on stock wheelbase was a 1.7 and that was with th forks strapped!

Sorry I didn't see your post earlier, Btstone. I'm out of town right now, and won't be out tonight. I'm going out for a friend's birthday party tomorrow night in Atlanta, so I'll be back then.

Weather forecast looks bad, so I doubt many people will be out this weekend.
