I am about to get my Class A CDL and I wanted to know if anybody on IA is or knows a Heavy equipment operator. I need some pointers on how to get my foot in the door. Like what company I could get on with, even as a laborer or dump truck driver. Thanks in advance.

As far as driving goes, there seems to be a decent amount of openings for people looking for dump truck drivers, or haul equipment on with a lowboy and road tractor, or working for a company like walmart or publix driving open road even. Seems like you have a ton of options with a CDL

I've thought about Prime, they have a good finance plan for a truck, after 80k miles, you can purchase a truck through them for 0% or something ridiculous. I don't know if you had thought about driving on the road, but that is where a lot of money is. I'm saying this because I don't know the designations between different license types for CDL.
