ok so right now i have so many options. I have a LS shortblock in my garage, i have a b20 in my car running right now and i have a gsr with a spun rod bearing waiting to get a new crank and new bearings and some machine work. I either want to go ls/vtec or b20vtec or boosted gsr. All of these setups will be on STOCK internals. Im confused on witch route i want to go either all motor or boost. For lsvtec and b20vtec i will stay all motor but for the gsr i will boost it. I also have a usdm ITR tranny in my car right now, that is perfect for an all motor setup. So basically my budget is 1000, and my goal for an all motor setup is 200+whp. For boosting the gsr 300+whp.. on stock internals, yes. I know my budget for boost is not good but i can also sell my tranny and longblock witch will upp my budget to around 2600. Any suggestions?

why are you using stock internals? you wont get 200whp with $1000.

so let me get this straight. you have a full b20 longblock in your car with a itr tranny. a ls shortblock in the garage, and a gsr full longblock? at the machine shop??? if so it sounds like you already made a decision.....

no the gsr is in my garage, i need new bearings, and a new crank, it needs to be decked, honed, and milled. but im wondering if i should just slap on the gsr head on the b20 or ls, and get a good tune.

just do the b20 vtec till your wallet gets right spray about a 55-75 shot, 1 step colder plugs while you take your time building the other for a spare. i drove a b20b4 vtec all motor then sprayed while i was building up my parts and wallet for my ls vtec (thicker better sleeve design) then aquired a turbo kit and precision turbo sold nos kit and boosted b20 vtec to 8 psi and was happy for 4 years @ 258whp @ 8psi. now i pulled out the still running b20 to keep as a spare and am running a fully built ls vtec i took my time with while playing with the b20 vtec. then you can keep the gsr for spare or fix and sell to put into some forged rods and pistons and shoot for 400+ on a boosted ls vtec while your sportin the b20 at the time plus you can do the vtec conversion while motor is in car.

Save up more money, you dont have enough to do anything.

With $1000 you can do a B20VTEC but it wont make near 200whp. Maybe 160-170 TOPS

Turbo you are way out of luck. You need $2000-2500 to do it right.

x2 save your money annd drive the hell outta that b20. buy internals for the gsr, boost it, and make 400+. sell the rest of the shit for your boosted gsr. Once you go hybrid, the problems never end and you will constantly be dumping cash in it to keep it running.

hybrids on a budget= blowing your budget

dude save your money and boost the gsr. I bought a CHEAP turbo kit for like 600 and by the time it was all over with and tuned on my b16 i have spent about 1700 or 1800. it was worth the money and runs like a champ! you get what ya pay for especially on your tuning. If you wanna cut cost you can run a cast manifold and ebay bov and turbo/intercooler but dont skimp on the important stuff like fuel system and tuning etc............mine makes 227 whp on 6.79 psi and that is pretty quick. the boosted gsr will easily get you to 250 on 7 psi i think..............boost is a drug! DO IT

dude, $1,000 is basically gonna get you a good set of power making headers or turbo manifold, a chipped P28, and a dyno tune

If u did your own labor and used the $1k on a built vtec head, LS/V kit, to get even 170-175whp your gonna have to atleast have $2k if its gonna be a stock internal low comp. b20

i'd just save up the money and sell one of the extra blocks you got laying around. once you get the money right you will be able to actually do something with it. cause right now, you're not doing much.

however, you COULD start getting parts together to go for boost. ie, buy the parts you want to build the motor, and have them sit in your room till you got EVERYTHING. then do it all at once. instead of little by little over a long ass period of time.

if you decide to boost the b20, might want to think about getting it re-sleeved. cylinder walls are weak and will crack with any boost past like 8 psi.
