View Full Version : CAN SOMEONE HELP ME PLEASE????

i got a problem i took my car to get the transmission rebuilt in this shop in buford hwy, they said that they were gona rebuild it completely because it needed HARD parts not SOFT parts so i told them go ahead,they charged me $2.035.00 its an automatic trany the car is a 2003 nissan altima 2.5,,,i went and got my oil changed and they checked the transmission oil it was clean then he asked me why did the trany have yellow numbers and letters on it..i said cus they just now rebuilt it and he said that i looked like it was from the junk yard.so now im TRYN TO FIND OUT IF I CAN GET THE SERIAL NUMBER OF THE ORIGINAL TRANSMISSION TO COMPARE AND SEE IF ITS THE SAME ONE..can some one please help me and tell me how to find out............thanks

I think your best bet may be to call Nissan and tell them the situation. They can maybe pull up your info from the VIN, but Im not sure about that.

And yeah, if it has yellow numbers and letters written on it in like a sharpie marker type deal, then it is most likely from a junkyard.

What was the shop called?

its called speedy transmission i think they still got my original transmission and they couldnt give me a discount for it..thanks to them i got my title pawned so that i could pay them off...

Yeah --- it's pretty speedy to grab a junk yard dawg for 400 - 600 and then charge you out the ass.

some trans shops do write on the transmissions with a paint pen like the date it was rebuilt and for warranty reasons!

^X2 plus a lot of the time they have to keep up with who's trans is who's u know, depending on how busy/big that place is too.......

Should have came to us. We just did a 2.5L tranny on an '03 Alti for 1500. We are just a bit further south on Buford Hwy.

What is written on the transmission? Is it initials? A date?
