Yet where it really matters, as a performance sedan, the CTS-V soundly spanks the M5. It's quicker in a straight line, handles better, steers better, even rides better (credit those amazing, multitalented magnetorheological shocks).

An all-new M5, rumored to develop 600-plus horsepower, is coming for 2011. Until then, though, it's the Cadillac CTS-V that best reflects the supersedan state of the art.

FIRST PLACE: Cadillac CTS-V
Glitzy exterior and cabin plus some finish issues detract from premium feel, but delivers where it counts. A Corvette ZR1 in four-door attire -- and a bargain to boot.

SECOND PLACE: BMW M5
Masterfully executed, but priced accordingly. Handling not on par with BMW's best, though, and V-10 power no match for Caddy's supercharged V-8.

I don't think this is the slightest bit impressive, the E60 chassis has been out since 2004, it's dated and it's about that time for replacement.
I look at things backwards though... In my eyes it was why did a BRAND new car with more power and torque pull less than .5 seconds on a track...

If these figures are correct, it would suggest that an SMG M5 is faster all around, because there is no fully turning off the traction control on the 6 speed they tested, which is significantly slower when trying to power through and out of corners...

Anywho IMO, high revving exotic V10, I.T.B's 7 gears, over a brute simply made blown V8 any day

I love the high rev V10 from bmw, but a pushrod is hard to beat. Both are just opinions though.

Your sig explains your post perfectly... The BMW may have better technology, but if the CTS-V performs better then... :dunno:

It's like saying... "I'll take a GTR with its TT high revving six cylinder over a brute simply made blown v8 ZR1 any day"....

So like, wow. Interesting information. I would love to see how the 2011 M5 will run against the Caddy. Considering Caddy knows about this, I'm sure they may have something already in the works, or will be soon after the release of the new BMW.
