I went through similar confusion when I bought my ITR swap. It was listed as a '98-spec. The date stamp on the head was '99, and the motor came with a '98-spec 4-1 header. But the transmission had the J4D stamp on it. Turns out it was indeed a '98-spec motor mated to a '96-spec tranny. Still an awesome transmission though :goodjob:
