I'm thinking it might still be in use and the picture can't be that old because that's one of the newer model roadster next to it.

That's just for Military. Cops can use anything they want but they try to stick with american to promote US jobs. That's why they used to only use Harley's for the motorcycle patrol but now they're switching to all kinds of different bikes.

No the radio won't catch shit unless you hit the person in the head with it. Like a computer the radio is only as good as the information being fed into it, if the officer can't see you anymore they don't know where you are and can't direct other officers to find you. That "can't outrun the radio" bullshit always comes from people too slow to even outrun the car.

Yes, cause it can't be modified at all... I mean, GSP would never do that. ;)

I would say it would still be in use because they didn't do the orange lettering that long ago.

Also, on the highway it has amazing gearing so it can keep up with a lot of things on top speed that the average American drives that is getting pulled over.

I doubt it is still in use. If I remember correctly, it is a 96 BMW. I read about them 6-8 years ago. GSP had 3 of them I belive. One was totaled, one is on display and the third was still in use at the time. By now, that car would be way too old to be reliable.

That picture was taken in 2007. GSP used three 318i's during the Olympics in 1996 for escorting the runners carrying the torch and patrol.

South Carolina Highway Patrol had three e34 M5's given to them after the BMW plant was built there.

shit duluth has a 300zxHall County did but I think they sold it, the resource officer for West Hall High School drove it and it was sometimes used for pursuit on weekends on 985...let's just say it wasn't all that fast ;) lol! Most counties and city's nationwide have used confiscated cars for police vehicles. A Lambo in California and a Viper in Texas come to mind.
