I've been considering patching some rust holes on my Datsun's floorboard. Really just needing to know what gauge metal I need to use? Any tips?

Old datsun trucks don't feel the slightest bit like a rod, so... lol. I'm good.

On my 520 I am using some old metal shelving I got for free form work. Its aboot half a gauge thicker than the Datsun metal. I also used a little on my Volksrod Beetle. Turned out okay but I wish I had a brake for what I am doing to the truck. The bends are fine and will not be seen but mentally I know there not oem angles. If you want to check it out let me know. I have lots of the shelving and can get more if I need it.

I used a 1986 Honda Prelude rear decklid to make the floors for altimacharlie's 620 Datsun pick-up. We don't have a metal brake, so I just beat it into submission while welding it into place.

They don't necessarily have to be beat up... as long as its newer than '82, any Honda panel will do. Just try to scrape off the "Type R" stickers so you get good weld penetration :goodjob:

Neil, we need to talk about floor pans. I pulled up my carpet yesterday, its not as bad as I thought but they definitely need some work. I have been thinking of cutting the tunnel off of a Fox body Mustang and grafting it to my floor too.

Yea, road signs. Best floor patching stuff money can't buy.
