Have a Miata? Like a challenge? Read below!

http://www.mx5atlanta.com brings you the MX5Atl Challenge!!!!

The next event is SUNDAY, JUNE 14th, AT TURNER FIELD.

Registration for the event will be like any other auto-x, and can be found on the http://www.soloatlanta.com front page. Official registration is NOT open yet but as soon as it is, I will post up. If you area a SCCA member, registration is $30, if you are NOT a member it will be $40. Signing up to be a SCCA member has other benefits too..hotels, AAA, rental cars, and other cool stuff. You can sign up to be a SCCA member at http://www.scca.org

Rules - The same as ANY auto-x event. Since we are running this with the SCCA, all class rules are per what they use, so if you're wondering what class to sign up for, feel free to ask!!

But how will it be even for someone with a lightly modified Miata to run with a highly modified Miata? It's called a PAX time. There is a formula that takes each class and multiplies your lap time to even the cars out...like a handicap of sorts. Top finishers will be given the following points scale

1st - 10pts
2nd - 8pts
3rd - 6pts
4th - 5 pts
5th - 4 pts
6th - 3pts
7th - 2pts
8th - 1pt

Remember, this is for FUN , although we may give out awards to the top finishers at the end of the year awards banquet held by the Atl. region SCCA. So don't think that just because you've never done any driving events or that your car "is not fast" that you can't come out....this is open to ANYONE with a Miata.

So post up your name so I can start making a list.
Once registration opens up, PLEASE edit your post or just post up the class and number you registered!!!
Since the Atl region auto-x season is already underway, we will use the remaining events to gauge interest for next year's season.

Event dates - ("points event" are for the ATL series, and i'll leave them posted like this so when ever registration is open, it will be easier to see)
**The Mirrorkhan will count toward our Challenge eventhough it's not an offical points event to the ATL region.
