and tell me how to get rid of this star shaped glare from the light when i take night pics....what do i need to change with the settings? Im not trying to nothing pro, just to get rid of that glare when i dont want it!

stop shooting at f/11 or higher.
ie shoot at like f/4 or f/5.6...its the aperture blades causing this. i think if its an even number of blades like a 6 blade aperture then you will have 6 pointed star. but i think if its an odd number of aperture blades then the points on the star are doubled. ie: 5 bladed aperture you will have a 10 point star. but that is useless, looks like you ahve a 6 bladed aperture.

If your lens flares that badly (enough that the light is bouncing & diffracting off of the aperture blades) at ~f/5, then there might not be anything you can do about it.
