Just wondering who you think would win between a 380whp SRT-4 at 2900lbs and a 450whp 03 cobra at 3700lbs from about a 40 roll? I own the srt just wondering how i would do against one.

I would imagine the SRT4 would pull the Cobra. 800lbs is alot of weight to make up for and I don't think 70whp can cover it.

Same tires I would say the terminator pulls from a dig. SRT4 has a lot less torque to get out of the hole which gives the stang an advantage from that standpoint. Both of them are wheelhoppers...
From a roll, i would have to give the win to the srt4. Turbo cars love roll runs.

The thing is, the SRT4 with that much horsepower would RAPE a Cobra from a roll. It's just plain and simply, a faster car....by quite a bit.
The fact that a Cobra isn't a monster from a stop, I'd say with equal drivers the Cobra would be LUCKY to get 1.5 cars out of the hole, which wouldn't be nearly enough to make up for it's major p:w defecit.

Cool, i just was wondering cause i drove one and it seemed fast as hell but then again i am use to the power of my car plus the cobra is RWD so you really feel the force of the pull. I've been in this same situation before when i road i something and i thought it would get me but when we raced it was not even close.

Yeah, from the roll...no problem. From the dig, the Cobra will win. The simple lack of torque will hurt the SRT4. It is the same with my G35. From a 40 roll, I can beat a new Mustang GT, but from a dig there is no chance.

True, Just figured with gearing and everything Cobra would have it in the 1/4 from a dig... But I guess with equal drivers it might also depend on how far or to what speed they were actually racing... I know turbo>SC in most cases. (For higher speeds)

WHat do you trap?? I have right at 400whp now and trap 121 on pump gas. I have seen a 450whp cobra trap 117-118

Its a drivers race. It always is no matter what cars they are. I have seen cars with 300RWHP more and get pulled because the car wouldn't hook from a 90mph roll to much power for the street. Its pretty common these days:cheers:

(SmackedInATL) we do need to make this a reality you will not dominate me and if you did win it would not be by much eather way it would be fun for us. This weekend i'm taking my DTEC FC off and installing the predator and ordering a "canned tune" from rage-tek. I hope to see some big gaines from it cause with the DTEC i can only tune the fuel curve but with the predator i can mess with timing and more also.

Yea i hope it makes me proud. After i get the canned tune i am going to get it dyno tuned soon after when i get some money saved up but for now i will just street tune it i hope it makes more power with the street tuned diablo than the street tuned DTEC is now.

Well To be honest... when you alter a piggyback like the Dtec. It raises the timing as it pulls fuel. Which is both Really bad and prone to knock but makes more power. A DSP will not raise timing as you pull fuel. So it will not make as much as on a piggyback unless tuned VERY well. but if your getting a dyno tune you should be good to go imo. You will need a rescale of your injectors and 3 bar sensors to make your car drivable. But its well worth it in the long run

I run 19 to 20psi on the stock map now with the DTEC and it seems to do fine will it act different with the predator or something how did the stock map act with you?

Yea I had a waaaay easier time when I put the 3 bars on. It will seem sluggish imo going over the 18psi with the stock sensors
And also I get over 350 lb ft of tq at 3100rpms.. Guess where I launch at even on STREET tires at the track? Thats right and holds through 6500rpms when I let off. You must of never ridden in a properly set-up big turbo Knee-ON I would think?

If the last part was to me, I am speaking of a stock SRT4 that has 250lb ft of torque. It is only common sense that if you mod the car to give you 170 more horsepower, that the torque is going to improve. :screwy:

That's fine with me.. I got my 750s on the way and plan to run 24psi on pump gas. I already have my tune awaiting it just give me a couple of days to get them in.

Hey oldblue thats cool but I'm trying to understand why you mention "pump gas" when you typed your 60' time. MPH don't win races at the track and and if you expect to keep up with this Cobra off the line you better get that 60' down to about a 1.60. I don't think race gas going to do that for you.
Kason we will get to it too. I'm interested to see how I'd do against you with that trap speed. I hope to be around 3600lbs race weight when I hit the track.

I'm sure you and me will be a good race.. After my new tune its slicks and light weight wheels.. I have cut 1.6 sixtys before on stock turbo but this new power level might make it a PITA lol. I can already hear the axles breaking :eek:

I will be making some shakedown runs on the built solid axle and new suspension setup. So there may still be some kinks to work out. When I get ready for steele we can roll down there together. I just got a 15" greg weld drag wheel setup and going to through some 26" hoosier qtp's out back. I'm hoping for good times.

Trap speed at the track?? That will tell how fast a car is on the road imo. A 450+ intergra better be trapping 126ish Drivin right imo.
What do you have a Turbo'd K swap or built B series?

That about where I think I will. I trapped 118 about 2 weeks after signs of my clutch starting to slip. With the new clutch I hope to trap 120-121 and weight some weight reduction. The solid axles is about 125-150 lighter, full drag wheel setup, and remove the rear and front seats. I think it will be good for 121.

he stated in his OP that his car was big turbo so why comment about a stock neon VS the mod'd cobra. and even if you were talking about stock turbo neons, they always make MORE TQ than HP
my current silver one makes 270whp and 290wtq my old black one on stock turbo made 297whp and 360wtq
making that TQ is why i wuld say the cobra would walk off from a dig on a stock, stock turbo or big turbo car. termi's may suck from a dig but they arent a FWD car that makes alot of TQ...thats not a good combination.

For my original post stating that the Cobra would take it from a start because of the torque difference. I.E. lack of torque compared to the Cobra. (BTW...same as your said)
Then to the last post, Kason was saying how much his made. I was stating that of coarse his is going to make more torque because it is modded. In general (which is why I brought up stock), the SRT4 does not have a lot of torque even though the stock one has 20 more than horsepower.
And yes, the SRT4 is very gay...it is a Neon.

wait to you see what we got now. light weight steel flywheell on a non modular clutch kit...the test unit is being installed in my car right now. should be ready for release in about a month and stage 2 with the fullface disc will be good for 500WTQ :goodjob:

Do you have any ideas that might help me to stop the slipping competition was suppost to get you to call me like three times already but still no call

not sure, i have seen that clutch hold race gas 60 trim cars on slicks like a champ. exact same clutch as the one you got holding 450wtq for well over a year.
im not sure what exactly is going on with your set-up. theres so many things that can go wrong with performance clutches from installation error like greasing the bearing to much and then the grease flying onto the disc and cause it to burn up and slip to there being an issue with the cars hydrolic system like the slave/master to driver error, not saying YOU cant drive but you would be surprised how many people cant drive worth a fuck. did you speak with the guy that runs our warranty department?

right now ACT full face but if you can wait another month or so we should have our non modular kit out. higher plate load than ACT, less expensive and holds more TQ. we are about to put the SRT market on lock. stage 2 with a full face disc and it will take 500wtq like a champ.
my car is at dodge right now getting the R&D unit installed and getting the bugs worked out and i should have it to the track this or next weekend. once we are sure its good we will place our stock order on the parts we need then it will be released and ill be running our section on srtforums :cheers:
cool ya it will deff. be a little while since mine is slipping quite yet but i want to be ready when i get my 75 shot

The slave cylinder is fine also had it checked out the clutch only slips when i speed shift and it only does it like when i first start playing with it but it seems like when the clutch gets heated up or something it stops and dont slip anymore that shit is crazy i dont understand that.

thats weird....talk to our tech/warranty guy about it. im one of the sales guys, i know clutches cause its what i sell for a living but our tech guy REALLY knows clutches ya know. worse cause situation you might have to pull it and send it back to us for inspection. then again...to be honest if you bought it THAT long ago its out of warranty but we might be able to work something out with one of our new non modular clutches once those are released.

Its black, it use to have a saleen front bumper on it with saleen wheels but it now has the cobra bumper back on it with some gun metal with polished lip rims.

Yes, i think he bought it from the cartersville area tho. Yea im about 2 hours from the v-meets now i was bout 1 hour an 15 minutes from the v-meet but i just moved further away bout a mounth ago.

im with chad when i had the srt4 it made 279/334 on 18lbs stock turbo tuned with dtec. i never knew the srt4 lacked torque on stock or big turbo.But when its all said and done i hate both cars they both suck balls and i can say that because i have had both.

depends on how bad the turbo lag is for the srt.
dig, i say cobra due to better launch. a roll, srt with the weight different.
