Anyone know of any good Thai places? I ate at Siri Thai in Athens last night and it was fantastic. The actual dining area is small but the service and low music made it a welcomed change of pace. I had some kind of soup that was made with coconut milk and shrimp that was amazing. I would have never ordered a soup with coconut milk but I told the waitress to just pick me something and I was glad I did.

thai coconut soup is good man.

I don't know your location but there's only a few places in atlanta that i actually like.
King and I in downtown atlanta has been around for a while so that has to mean something. But I found myself going to Thai of Norcross more than any other.

I usually go to Thai Terrace when I'm in Roswell. I've heard Spoon downtown by Georgia Tech is pretty good, but I've never been there.

Oh and Tamarind Seed downtown on Peachtree Street is quite tasty as well. Thai food ftw.

+1 I, also, recommend Bangkok Cabin:

It's a home converted to commercial. --very homey feel and the food doesn't get anymore authentic. The owners are awesome, too. They come and say hello to the customers every so often, instead of staying in the kitchen, like most other restaurants.

Thanks for the Bangkok Kitchen tip. I live right off Chastain so that's not too far from me. I usually go to Penang next to Town Center because it's so close. They have a mix of Malaysian and Thai cuisine. The red snapper is good along with the pad thai and they have this dessert made with black rice which is also really good.

Siri Thai was hands down the best Thai place I have ever eaten. It'll probably be hard to top.

If you're ever in Athens at lunch time, check out Thai Spoon... they have a great lunch special (soup and entree) for like $6 and change.

Theres a pretty good place in Cartersville called "River Thai" thats just a hole in the wall, but they have a vegeterian duck substitute thats out of this world (some of these Thai places have fake meat that is better than real meat:ninja:)

Last weekend I ate at Surin of Thailand in teh Highlands. The food was great... and I was surprised at the how low the prices were combined with the nice atmosphere (good service at the table, cloth tablecloths and napkins, great lighting & decor, etc).

LOL, go to Hot Cafe in College Park, its not the best environment and its not the best service or any of that but the food is what keeps it going. Its super authentic, trust me, I know the owners.

And if you want Lab Moo, you can ask them to make it even if they don't have it on the Menu, but I'm pretty sure they do, I don't really eat Lab when I'm there. I usually eat Cow Peaq Sen...I guess thats how you would spell it.

Red Garlic off of Pleasant Hill reopened under new management. Just tryed their Yum phet(duck salad) last week. Never seen it on a thai menu before, but it was amazing!

I used to go to Thaicoon every so often for boat noodles, but Red Garlic will be our new spot.

A lot of Thai places have Seuyu and Suegai. Both are meat substitutes.

Seuyu is like fish and is made from soybeans and seaweed.

Suegai is more like beef and is made from soybeans.

Both of them are delicious... I would honestly rather have suegai than the real meat most places serve. :goodjob:
