need advise

ok so i have an 91 civic with a slow as d15...nd i wanna make it a bit faster for a daily...i was planning on buying an ls swap but i dnt have the money to buy all the things needed...or ma second plan was to make an easy d16 swap nd boost it to atleast make 180hp on stock engine...
wat would yall guys recommend?

If you can afford to boost a D16, then swap in the LS. Yeah, everyone does the LS in the Civic, but consistency is key. There are plenty of people around that can help you with everything you need to swap the LS in and do it on a baller budget. You can have a nice LS swap for around $2K or less and with the EF body, it will be pretty quick.

As for what you should do. If your hp goal is 180hp, your cheapest route would be a boosted single cam. To get 180hp N/A, you looking at atleast $5000 since you would need a hella built d-series or a 1.8L dohc vtec motor with some bolt-ons, valvetrain, and good tuning.

If you boost your current motor (assuming its in good condition and you do a mpfi swap) you could easily achieve your goal for less that $3k (using new parts) or even much cheap if you buy used parts or an ebay turbo kit (which I personally wouldn't recommend). If you don't boost more than 8lbs you are good. Next, I would recommend building a d16a6 block using tuner toy rods and vitara pistons. Then you can safely up the boost and those rod and pistons are relatively cheap.
