I would def put a diesel in it, more than likely something like the Cat C9. Its what they use in transit buses and shit so you know it can handle the weight and have long term reliability.

As far as lifting it, no. It you raise it too much the center of gravity is much too high. This would make it more vulnerable for the zombies to tip it over, which means /life
