ok i have a 00 civic si with a stock motor

im tryin to see how much its going to cost to get a tune up done at a good shop. i would do it myself just dont have the time and need it done before memorial day weekend

here the list of what i want done

new spark plugs
new spark plugs wire
new disturbtor cap
new disturbtor rotor
new headgasket
new timing belt
new water pump

feel free to add anything else you think i might as well do since im here

any help on pricing is appreciated

name the price and shop if you can

budget is around 400 give or take a couple of hundred

i know i might not be able to get everything done at that price but if i cant ,
name the more important things i should get done before others

motor milelage is around 90k to 100k

and do you think it will be cheaper if i get the parts myself or let the shop provide it

probably cheaper to get em yourself. plugs/wire you can get at any autozone/advance/Orielys.

Dizzy cap and Rotor I'd get off ebay or from the above mentioned.

Everything else, same place.

If I were you, I'd do the most I had time for by myself, it'll save you money on Labor. Like do the plugs and wires yourself. and dizzy and rotor if you know how. then all the shop can charge for is Head gasket/belt/pump.

Oh and its always good to check/clean your air filter when your doing a normal tune up.

ok first off not even in a major tune up is a head gasket included. is your head gasket blown? do u have low comp? funky looking oil/coolant? if u answer no to those a head gasket isnt needed.

and water pump to save some time and money

i can tell u this the only way your going to come in under 400 is u do the work yourself. labor is is going to range from 400-900 depending on where u go. parts about $250 depending on there markup. most shops wont warranty there work if they dont get the parts.

If you do not feel like tackling this yourself. Please let us know. We will certainly be cheaper then the local dealer. And we will work with you the best we can.

Take care!
