A Glock 23C "compensator" Pistol that i carry daily! Has anyone shot one??? I havent had time to go to the range yet. It comes with 2 13 rd mags. I see very good reviews on the accuracy! Only bad is that it will take a bit longer to clean! I just ordered a GLOCK brand extra mag holster and going to get a serpa holster for it and i think i might go with Trijicon night sights. lmk what you guys think!

Very nice man, i am sure you will love it. Allthough it may be a little harder to clean thats usually not considered to be a drawlback on a carried compensated gun. Have fun man, let us know how she shoots!

I had a Springfield XD 9mm that was compensated. It had no recoil, after 3 magazines I could no longer see the front sight, if you shoot it at night it will blind you, when you shoot it at the range people will look to see what it is because they are FUCKING LOUD. I sold it and picked up an H&K P30. I honestly shot the Springfield better than my HK...

yeh well im kinda learning and getting comfortable with a safety method a cop was teaching me. which is the pointing method. once you are needing to withdraw your weapon, you dont have any time to really aim. pretty much just like pointing your finger. he hits a target at all times within 20-25 yards once weapon is withdrew. target is about the size of your midsection. lol i dont think a compact gun is that way to go for long distance shooting anyways.

nice! i was actually going to try and buy my first .45 at first. and was going to buy i believe the 39? compact .45 G.A.P. but i think .40 is pleanty of power. and cheaper and more common rounds.

I love my 23, nd I really considerd ordering the 23C, but because I couldnt find any real reviews of it I stuck with the 23. Let us know how it fires though.

IMO i wouldnt mention that "method" while on the stand for self defense. Pretty sure no judge or jury will like you just pointing and pressing the trigger (not aiming). In cqb some schools of thought will let you ride by with front sight aiming, some say each and every shot should be: target,front sight, rear sight, trigger press. I really cant imagine his groups being that great from point shooting?!?!

Personally there is no way i could train to not aim, and just point shoot. I think thats just asking for trouble.

Compact guns are not the best for long distance. But 25yds is well within the reach of practically every pistol out there, even the tiny sub compact kahrs.

Also, what did this have to do with my comment about people not carrying compensated guns? If you were just making conversation, cool beans :D

H&K is working on a compensated pistol design that redirects the muzzle energy in a curved pattern. imagine putting a flat peice over the ports so the blast goes up and then out to keep from blinding the shooter. There are also weapons manufacturers who are working on special carry ammo for these weapons.

I shoot hot loads in all my guns, so I can see where some feel that being compensated will ruin your night vision. It probably would IF you get some muzzle flash. It's pretty obvious. But much like your hearing is also going to be affected if you let off a full load inside a darkened house at 3 a.m., you can't expect to be wearing hearing protection when you discharge your firearm. Yes, you can shoot without your hearing and not your eyes, but it's also a fact that most gun fights aren't "O.K. corral" shootouts either.

I will just have to make my first shot count.....;)

BTW, my 32C shoots VERY good and it's comfortable to shoot even with hot +P loads. It's all about practice and getting used to how the weapon handles. My 32C feels different than my Kimber .45 than my Smith .45 than my .38 snubby than my AR, so therefore it just takes practice to become proficient with whatever you have in your hand at the time.

Another piece of advice: Practice with your carry loads. It does you no good to shoot a 1000 rounds of SWC low power loads at the range only to then fill your magazine with hot +P HP. It will shoot and feel different if you ever have to use it. Yes, now-a-days it is not frugal to spend $50 worth of your "good" ammo down the range at paper, but atleast get familiarized with what your carry load feels like if and when you ever have to use it. Far too often I see people at the range get "surprised" by what a hot load feels like. You don't see baseball players hitting wiffle balls for practice just because it's easier to hit, right? Same applies here.

I got to test the h and k pistol at the last Special Operations Gun show they had up at bragg. I went up there about 2 weeks ago. I am the master gunner for my company and told them I was interested in going . They will not allow cameras in the show because alot of the stuff they have out are for bid by govt contracts. Alot of neat stuff. I also got to shoot the new Knights armament corps saw lmg. 10lbs of bullet slinging furry. Way lighter and more mobile than a standard m249. Anywho.. I hope you like it. When I find out from my distro guys when the new ammo hits the shelf i will let you know.

I have said that same statement a million times to the new gun owners i meet and 80% of the time they cannot afford it. I tell them its better to buy a entry level pistol and shoot several thousands of rounds through it than to buy a really nice pistol and only familierize yourself with like a 50rd box. I usually spend close to $300 on carry ammo when i first buy one to find out what I and The Gun like. Anywho..
