so im looking to get one off of a buddy of mine. it's an auto with a stock ka24de i believe. anyways its having some kinda prob with smoke out the tail pipe. but it runs but i don't how well it drives. somebody told me it was a head gasket, but we aren't sure.

Can any body help me out here?

What color is the smoke? When does it smoke on start up,drive, idle?

Sounds like he blew the welds on the intake manifold.

Easy fix.

its pure white, kinda misty not sure if it condensation from water cause it has been sitting for a while. its starts fine and idles, but like i said im afraid to actually drive it cause i dont want to make what ever could be wrong with it worse

just let it sit there and idle for 15 minutes or so.

then drive it around the block and when you come back see if it still smokes.

if its not smoking anymore it was just water. if it is smoking it is probably your headgasket.

dont buy it without driving it first though. keep your eye on the temperature gauge while driving as well. if it starts to rise any above normal temperature shut it off immediately

COULD be the headgasket, check the coolant and oil.

it has a brand new radiator, and we had it idling for a while. but ill just go over there one day and let it idle for a while longer i guess. but we were thinking headgasket, but aren't those a bitch to replace?
