Good condition obd1-2 sohc swaps average around $500-$600. Can you find one cheaper? Yep. If you go to a salvage yard look to pay around $700-$800 for the just the engine LOL.
Heads run anywhere between $100-$300 depending what's done to them and blocks runs around the same prices. I wouldn't get a obd2 block (y8) because d16a6s are "suppose" to be the strongest d-series blocks.

PAP does not have your normal salvage yard prices. Goto www.car-parts.com and price 95 Civic EX motors.

PAP also rarely has what you are looking for. If you find an engine you are looking for then it is either a new car on the lot or something is wrong with it.
thanks for the replies guys
im asking because i am looking to buy a few (couple Z6 heads and a y8 head) from someone and i was just wondering about how much i should offer.... and a couple virgin p28's (ECU)
what about a y8 block? is it worth the money or does it suck?

A y8 doesn't suck, but a obd0 or obd1 engine is easiler to install in a obd0 car.
