WHATS UP IA!!! Well I havent played my 360 in about 3 months and everything was fn perfect when i stopped playing... so just a couple days ago i wanted to get back into action after taking a long ass break from gaming. When i go to turn it on I get sound and everything BUT GUESS WHAT.... the screen is blacked out with lines going thru it. So i check the wires make sure everything on the tele is straight and it is so i try again... and its the same shit.... i tried on a different tv and got the same thing....

BUT my question is how much of a pain is it going through with sending it to microsoft because ive heard a lot of stories ppl go through just to get small stuff repair.... ohh and my warranty is xpired i bought my xbox back in christmas of 2006 and i gotta pay $100 to do so, so LMK folks.....:goodjob:

Just go on Xbox Support. Fill in the information and request a console repair. It has options for the varying problems. Pick the one associated with your problem, pay if necessary, print your label out and send it off via UPS. Depending on the repair, Microsoft says 2-3 weeks for repair and return.

I am waiting on my 360 to come back from its second repair (red ringed twice).

Also, there is a "new" problem arising in the 360, which Microsoft will be covering via an extended warranty. Check the site out and see if you are covered.

i had the same problem and my warranty is also expired. They say it was a overheating issue something to do with the X plate or something. But never got around to sending it in, I just switched to my ps3 i had laying around.
