so we're on our way back from silver dollar. a red e36 m3 pulls up to Nick in his evo LOL... and he downshifts and starts to lurch forward by giving it a little throttle. as he is trying to intimadate errrrr coerce nick into racing, we (dan chi, sonny and myself) are in my rental maxima laughing our asses off. obviously, nick has no reason to run this guy and plus its still wet and he's on drag radials. so for some reason, the m3 slows down and gets right next to us.. mind you, im in a HUGE 4 door thats BONE stock (not thackers idea of stock, the real stock). i figured, wtf... lets see what happens... we slow down to 45-50ish and i honk it off...
i don't really know what gear i was in nor do i know what gear we ended in due to this weird ass cvt tranny... but i do know that after a second we were 1 car ahead... after 3-4 seconds, we were 2 cars ahead... and pulling..
as we almost catch back up to nick, he puts the hazards on for me lol.
ok just wanted to share a delightfully funny situation. Poor M3!! :lmfao:

^^ don't know if i love it... its really weird.. feels like one continuous gear. i am curious to see how a turbo would be affected by this tranny. i bet it would never lose boost lol.

It is really weird at first because when the tranny "shifts" into the next gear it doesn't give us that jerk we're all accustomed to feeling, it feels as if you're in the same gear and never switched. That's also why it makes you think it's not as powerful as it is because it's so smooth...

It is like a big snowmobile tranny. I have driven a flashed 2.0T A4 that was CVT. It was fast but the only reason I like CVT is because I make money replacing them all the time. If you look around youtube there is a guy in a Nissan Murano with a TT kit running some stupid fast time at the drag strip. CVT+AWD+TT=fast. Till the tranny drops.

A new Camry V6 can take an E36 M3. We are talking about a car that came out in 1995.

Doubt it. And I destroyed Maximas in my old M3!
