To answer your question: yes and no

Stranger things have happened and sometimes, people just go above and beyond. Keep in mind that GA is a "Stand Your Ground" state and as long as you don't initiate the exchange, you can defend yourself, with deadly force if necessary, if someone intends to do harm to your person.

An example: I was at a pool party about 8 years ago. Some guy pushed my friend (the guy was drunk) and wanted to fight. I sorta stepped in, told everyone to calm down, and things quieted up quickly. The next thing that i knew, that same guy punched me in my left temple (sucker punch beyond belief). He THEN picked up a glass bottle and started stomping around. Had I had my gun on me at the time, I would have shot him no questions asked. Instead, I started to walk to my car and get my gun (once again, you can't really trust people these days and there were four of them whipped up into a frenzy) and before I could open the door (lucky for him/them), the police sirens were heard. He and his buddies ran off into the woods.

Now, if people are just yelling, that's different. However, once someone makes that initial contact, ALL bets are off. It's my job, my right to my WIFE, to go home safely that night. I will do whatever is necessary (within the confines of the law) to do so. I'm a grown man (33yrs old), so getting in a fight with some teenager/kid/young man is not really in my line of thinking anymore.

"Hey, let's fight and duke it out!" - No. Maybe in my younger years, but I have no want to willingly do that when I have a means to get out and get home safely.

If that means shooting some guy who "makes a mistake by not controlling his anger and fucks with the wrong person", so be it. As long as I am within my legal right to do so, I will not hesitate. In this day and age, you can't really be too sure who will do what and/or how far they will go.

To answer your question: yes and no

Stranger things have happened and sometimes, people just go above and beyond. Keep in mind that GA is a "Stand Your Ground" state and as long as you don't initiate the exchange, you can defend yourself, with deadly force if necessary, if someone intends to do harm to your person.

An example: I was at a pool party about 8 years ago. Some guy pushed my friend (the guy was drunk) and wanted to fight. I sorta stepped in, told everyone to calm down, and things quieted up quickly. The next thing that i knew, that same guy punched me in my left temple (sucker punch beyond belief). He THEN picked up a glass bottle and started stomping around. Had I had my gun on me at the time, I would have shot him no questions asked. Instead, I started to walk to my car and get my gun (once again, you can't really trust people these days and there were four of them whipped up into a frenzy) and before I could open the door (lucky for him/them), the police sirens were heard. He and his buddies ran off into the woods.

Now, if people are just yelling, that's different. However, once someone makes that initial contact, ALL bets are off. It's my job, my right to my WIFE, to go home safely that night. I will do whatever is necessary (within the confines of the law) to do so. I'm a grown man (33yrs old), so getting in a fight with some teenager/kid/young man is not really in my line of thinking anymore.

"Hey, let's fight and duke it out!" - No. Maybe in my younger years, but I have no want to willingly do that when I have a means to get out and get home safely.

If that means shooting some guy who "makes a mistake by not controlling his anger and fucks with the wrong person", so be it. As long as I am within my legal right to do so, I will not hesitate. In this day and age, you can't really be too sure who will do what and/or how far they will go.
