View Full Version : Outdoors Distance lovers?
Anyone out there a distance hound? I just got a long distance zombie killer and am looking for a place that I can stretch out a little. I am confident that I will be the weak link in accuracy once I really start pushing out, but that's the fun of it. I'd like to find somewhere that has 500 - 1000 yards.
Thanks!

I really want to build a long distance rifle also, but right now no cash for it. The only range I have heard about that is that long is down in SE GA. Somewhere off 95 not far from the FL border.
I know C3 Defense in Hiram says they are building a 600m range on their property, but I don't know if they have built it yet, or if they will open it to the public.

I know the C3 shop that used to be in Hiram either closed or moved a couple years back and the only address I saw for them was the one that closed.
My wife went up there last week, so I know they're still in Hiram. Maybe they moved to a different location and canned the range idea? I just checked their website, and there is no longer any mention of a range...so maybe you're right.

Theres a 600yd range in dawsonville, but its members only and they are at capacity on members. Ive shot 100, 200, 300 & 600yd before and its definitely fun to shoot!

Its more like $900 for the first year, the annual fees are $300 and theres a $600 joining fee. The harder part is that you've gotta get two current members to sign off on you to join. Plus it doesn't cost me anything since i shoot on my dad's membership.
Holy crap that's expensive! Plus that's too far for me. Hmmm, wonder if my buddy will let me shoot on his 2K foot runway...:D

Its expensive until you realize what all they have there, i believe there are 3 high power rifle ranges, 2 action pistol ranges, indoor bb range, in addition to shotgun hill which last time i was there had 2 skeet and 1 trap range.

Find some flat farm land and measure it out. Thats what I do for my 500 YD shooting. I also shoot a 4ft square 1/2" steel plate with 5 sheets of stacked 1/2" plywood behind it. It stops a 168gr .308 round just fine. Most of the time it won't even make it through the steel at that range.

you expect a non-AP round to go through 1/2" steel???
Thanks for all the replies! I will try to get to some of these places. I have a 150yd range near my house that I will be going to hopefully this week. I also have a friend who has a 300yd range set up at his house. That will be fun.
